Pioneering intelligent energy monitoring from Rotterdam since 2015 — because the world's industrial facilities deserve better visibility into how they consume power.
GreenWave was founded in 2015 by a team of electrical engineers and software developers in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with a clear thesis: industrial energy waste is a visibility problem, not a technology problem. Most facilities operate with utility-level metering that shows total consumption but reveals nothing about where, when, or why energy is being wasted.
We set out to build metering devices that combine MID-certified accuracy with native IIoT connectivity — so that every circuit in a facility can become a data point in a unified energy intelligence platform. Today, our products are installed in 28 countries, serving manufacturers, data center operators, and building managers who share our belief that measured energy is managed energy.
Our engineering team holds 35 active patents spanning energy measurement algorithms, IIoT communication protocols, and predictive analytics models. We operate a dedicated EMC/electrical testing laboratory at our Rotterdam headquarters, enabling rapid prototyping and in-house pre-compliance testing before final certification through accredited bodies.
Current R&D focus areas include edge-computing energy analytics, digital twin modeling for electrical distribution, and AI-driven demand forecasting that learns from a facility's unique consumption patterns.
Every GreenWave product is designed and manufactured to meet the regulatory requirements of the markets we serve.
Our team includes 48 hardware and software engineers, 12 application engineers with field commissioning experience, and a customer support team covering 6 languages. Over 60% of our engineering staff hold electrical engineering or computer science degrees, with an average of 8 years of industry experience in power systems, metering, and industrial communication protocols.
We are headquartered in Rotterdam with regional sales offices in Dubai, Singapore, and Houston — positioning us to serve projects across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
Whether you are an electrical contractor, system integrator, or facility operator — we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how intelligent energy monitoring can add value to your projects.
